A week after they announced that they were forming a band called Silk Sonic, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak released their first song together, "Leave The Door Open."

The song and the video have a decidedly early '70s soul/R&B vibe to them (starting with the reel-to-reel analog tape that opens the video). Both Mars and Paak take lead vocals on the song; in the very stylized performance video, Paak sings from behind the drum kit, while Mars is playing keyboards. They're accompanied in the studio by a guitarist, a bassist, a percussionist and a tamborine player, while a number of attractive women watch on from the studio's control room.

The song is available in all the usual places online, but you can also pre-order the CD single for $2.50; the single's official release date is April 2. Oddly, they have not yet released a vinyl release of the song.

Silk Sonic has not yet announced a full album, or any other upcoming music. However, based on fan response on twitter, it looks like there's an appetite for more new material from the duo.
