Amber Heard Secretly Welcomed Her First Daughter

Amber Heard recently announced that she became a mother a few months ago, welcoming her first child -- a daughter named Oonagh Paige.

The Aquaman star shared the news with her 3.9 million Instagram followers last night (July 1), saying she wanted to have a child "on my own terms."

35-year-old Heard wrote in her lengthy caption, "I’m so excited to share this news with you. Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms. I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way. I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib. A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this."

Oonagh Paige Heard was born on April 8, 2021. "She’s the beginning of the rest of my life," Heard wrote at the end of her caption. The baby's middle name appears to be a tribute to the actress' late mother, Paige Heard, who died in May last year. At the time, Heard said she "lives in my soul and is carried in my heart."

Heard is currently in a relationship with actress and cinematographer Bianca Butti, CNN reports. It's been a rocky couple of years for Heard, who had been locked in a feud with ex-husband Johnny Depp after their two-year marriage ended in divorce in 2017. In November last year, Depp lost a high-profile libel case against Britain's The Sun newspaper over claims he was an abusive husband.
