Richmond County Schools Announce Learn From Home Dates
According to a press release from the Richmond County School System, they will transition all schools to the Learn@Home model for two days. The dates will be Tuesday, September 7th and Wednesday, September 8th. During this time, the schools will be focusing on cleaning, disinfecting and replenishing their COVID-19 supplies to support the return of students on Thursday, September 9th.
This brief Learn@Home model has been implemented as Richmond County School System continues their partnership with the Department of Public Health. Their focus is on the health and safety of students and staff. Any questions should be addressed with your child’s school and/or teachers.

Richmond County School System Announces September Learn@Home Dates
(AUGUSTA, GEORGIA) – Due to the increasing COVID-19 cases in schools and community, the Richmond County School System will transition all schools to the Learn@Home model for two days following the Labor Day holiday. All Richmond County School System students will Learn@Home beginning Tuesday, September 7 – Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Students will resume in-person instruction on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
Families will receive information from school with clear instructions and expectations for students and teachers during the Learn@Home days. While students and teachers focus on Learn@Home, schools and school system departments will prioritize cleaning, disinfecting, and replenishing COVID-19 mitigation supplies such as soap, hand sanitizer, masks and water to support full return on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
Richmond County School System families may pick up meals from their student’s school on Tuesday, September 7 between 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The school system continues to maintain a partnership with the Department of Public Health to guide COVID-19 mitigation and response and prioritize health and safety of students and staff. Public health partners indicate that as community spread of COVID-19 increases, it is important that the school system remains focused on mitigation strategies including handwashing, masking and social distancing to remain open.
