Billie Eilish and Her Boyfriend Dress As Baby And Old Man For Halloween

Billie Eilish has just made her romance with Jesse Rutherford Instagram official on Halloween. Eilish has been spotted with The Neighbourhood's lead vocalist a few times, catching dinner and kissing in front of the paparazzi. Eilish, 20, has always kept her love life private, but yesterday (October 31), the artist shared a slideshow of her Halloween.

The "Happier Than Ever" singer captioned her post: "life is craaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy. happy halloween." In one of the slides, there is a clip of Jesse in a clown costume, making people laugh as he says, "That's why we're all fans anyway!" and throws a rat at them. The final slide, seemingly a photo of a camera screen, shows Billie in some kind of childish Little Bo Peep costume, while Jesse is in full old-man makeup (bald cap, grey hair, suspenders). The photo seems to be Billie and Jesse's creepy way of telling the world that they are very aware of their 11-year-age gap, with Jesse being 31.

Fans chimed in on the comments section on Instagram about the choice of costumes writing things like, "last slide is interesting babe…" and "SO WE POSTING JESSE NOW??" One fan wrote, "that last slide is gonna haunt her in a few years when she’s older and realises that a 31 year old has no business with someone that young." Another said, "strange costume idea." Calling out Billie for her song and music video to "Your Power" they commented, "*writes a song about age and power dynamics* *makes fun of it with a halloween costume*" Another wrote, "lets not pass over the fact she’s dressed as a baby and jesse as an old man. jokes about paedophilia arent funny."

One user wrote at length, "what i’m seeing are two adults knowingly making a dark joke. the thing is, with the older one being 31, you’d think he’d make the right call and say 'hey maybe that’s too far.' but then again, he’s 31 dating a 20 year old so he’s not gonna acknowledge the issue. billie is aware of what’s being said, but bc she’s so free spirited and bold, and also only 20, she thinks they ate. in her head it’s like a major 'lmfao f--- you' to everyone against it. she’s happy bc she’s with an older man and he’s happy bc he’s with someone not even old enough to drink yet. there’s a clear power imbalance in terms of awareness and maturity, so even if she’s aware and thinks she’s in control, she’s still a victim and i don’t think she deserves any backlash. that all said though, a lot of billie fans are teenagers and they’re clapping back in billie’s defense bc it’s what stans do, but they’re also too young to see an issue and will blindly support their fav and THAT’S a major problem given the context of the situation."

Billie Eilish has put out her fair share of music videos since 2016, starting with her breakthrough single, "Ocean Eyes." Since then, the now 22-year-old singer-songwriter has created some of the most visually stunning videos any female artist her age has ever accomplished. Two of her music videos have received over 1 billion views on YouTube: her collaborative song "lovely" with Khalid and 2019's hit, "bad guy." She has 24 other music videos that have over 100 million views on the site alone.

Eilish's first studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? released in 2019 as one of the best-selling albums of the year, which she received multiple Grammys for. The 14-song album featured such hits as "you should see me in a crown," "all the good girls go to hell," "bury a friend," and "when the party's over." The following year, Eilish performed the theme song "No Time to Die" for the James Bond film of the same name, which is arguably one of her most moving songs to date. By 2021, Billie released her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, which featured the song of the same name, as well as "my future," "Your Power," and "NDA."

As we previously reported, the musician thought her career was over before she got a big break in 2023 with the Barbie film soundtrack. Before she and her frequent collaborator and brother FINNEAS penned "What Was I Made For?", Eilish was honestly concerned about her music career. "I was honestly like, ‘Damn, maybe I hit my peak, and I don’t know how to write anymore?’” she said during The Hollywood Reporter's songwriter roundtable in November. She credits the call from Barbie director Greta Gerwig for saving her and Finneas from the despairing slump. “It brought us out of it, and immediately we were inspired and wrote so much more after that.” The song has now been streamed over a billion times.

Billie Eilish and Rosalía's angelic voices meld together in "Lo Vas A Olvidar," in which Billie sings most of the song in Spanish. The music video is minimal, allowing the artists' emotions and heavenly divine voices to shine.

Billie gets colorful in the music video for "bad guy," emerging from a bright yellow backdrop. It all gets wackier from there, with Billie riding around with her squad in a tiny car, to decapitated heads in plastic bags filled with water, to dancing on a colorful carpet that's reminiscent of The Big Comfy Couch.

Sometimes the best music videos don't involve real people at all, and that definitely applies to Billie's "my future," which shows us an adorable animated Billie in a forest in the pouring rain surrounded by little creatures. As the sun begins to breakthrough, the forest comes alive.

This video puts it's sole focus on a cup of black liquid in an all-white room. Billie is dressed from head-to-toe in white, with the exception of her bright blue hair and mountain of jewelry. Her clothes and face don't remain pristine after she drinks the glass, though.

Billie takes a shot at interpretive dance in "hostage," and seriously takes our breath away with the emotion behind her moves. She once again chooses an all-white room as her stage, which allows us as viewers to focus more on the story.

One of her newer songs from Happier Than Ever, Billie chooses a lone road as the backdrop. As the song progresses, so does the scenery behind her, with cars zooming past the star as she falls down to her knees in agony.

The power of this song deserved an equally powerful music video, and Billie did just that when she was completely wrapped by a python all while keeping her cool. We love how the drone footage starts off very far away in this desert landscape, finally revealing to us Billie sitting on the ledge of a rock.

When Billie emerged on the scene, she came out with really dark ideas that few pop stars have done. Billie plays on our fears, as she lays under a bed with blackened eyes, to being injected with multiple syringes in her back. Perhaps the most disturbing images of the video is when we see Billie's feet being dragged down a flickering hallway, only to reveal later that she's full-blown Exorcist levitating.

If we've learned anything from Billie Eilish's music videos, is that she like to incorporate visual storytelling with her music. In "Happier Than Ever," the warm house Billie starts in becomes a dark, flooded mess.

In continuation from her "bury a friend" music video, the syringes that were injected into Billie's back gave her wings. But what's a fallen angel to do once she's landed? We love how she's covered in black tar and moving in a creepy way.
