Want to Find Out About Food Trucks in the Augusta Area – Start Here!
Did you know that there are over 23,000 food trucks in the United States?
I remember seeing my first food truck in person in 2016 in Atlanta, Ga and I was so fascinated!! I had seen them on social media, but face-to-face with one had truly blown me away.
Fast forwarding 7 years, to now 2023 all over Georgia, food trucks are almost on every corner!
Honestly, One of the greatest inventions I would have to say.
History of Food Trucks
Well, if we’re going to celebrate them for National Food Truck Day, we’ve got to know the history behind them!
One of the first food trucks is Oscar Myer Wieners Weinermobile created in 1936. The Weinermoble would go around selling hot dogs.
By the 1950’s there were ice cream trucks. Fast forward to the 1970’s Raul Martinez opened a food truck in LA named King Taco – selling tacos.
After that, food trucks have basically been an uphill revolution! States started requiring food trucks to pass inspections, like brick and mortar restaurants. They have started to be granted liquor licenses.
Food Trucks in Augusta
Augusta has an on-going list of Food trucks! While I wish I knew every food truck in the CSRA, I don’t! But it is exciting to continue to encounter new ones in the CSRA.
Here is a list of a few around the CSRA – but this list does the city no justice! There are so many more, so I’m not going to leave you hanging there!
