Chick-Fil-A Goes Another Year Without its Traditional Cow Day Celebration
While it is still Cow Appreciation Day nationally, for the third year in a row Chick-fil-A has continued to cancel its traditional celebration of Cow Appreciation Day. If you remember, ever since 2005 there was a day in the summer time when many people would be dressed as cows and travel to Chick-fil-A for one specific thing. That’s because Chick-fil-A would allow customers to participate in Cow Appreciation Day by dressing up as a cow for a free entrée.
National Cow Day changes annually, always falling on the second Tuesday in July. This year it is today, July 11.
Why doesn’t Chick-fil-A do Cow Appreciation Day anymore?
It was cancelled in 2020 due to concerns surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. Fast forwarding to 2023, 3 years later and the mask mandate being lifted, people have been hoping for some good news around the return of Chick-fil-A’s Cow appreciation day. But another year is here and that is certainly not that case.
What is (was) Chick-fil-A’s Cow Appreciation Day?
If you had a cow costume lying around, this was your day to wear it! On the second Tuesday of July, any customer had the opportunity to visit any local Chick-fil-A dressed as a cow to receive a free entrée nation wide.
The celebration would last from opening till 7pm. 2019, which was the last year they did the celebration, marked the 15th anniversary.
What will Chick-fil-A do instead for Cow Appreciation Day ?

This day for Chick-fil-A may never look the same! I did take a second to play Code Moo and it’s actually really fun. It has elements of trivia and interactive play similar to Pokémon Go.
