Mayberry Diner is an old-fashioned diner in Cross Hill that’s dedicated to all things The Andy Griffith Show. Until I stumbled upon this article from Only In Your State, I had no idea this existed. And it’s only around an hour and a half drive from the Augusta area.
According to the reviews on Yelp, it’s worth the small detour to check out the fun diner. One review mentions the Southern-style diner offerings of meat and vegetable dishes. Another says the food is delicious, “like Grandma would make!” And another five-star review says Mayberry Diner has the “best hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger within 50 miles!”
Mayberry Diner is located at 171 North Main Street, Cross Hill, SC 29332. The restaurant has many Andy Griffith-themed decorations and even has menu items dedicated to the characters and places from the show.
Menu Selection
They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And according to the reviews, they have a large selection of items on the menu with generous servings.
For breakfast, you can enjoy Opie’s Breakfast Sandwiches, Barney’s Biscuits, or Andy’s favorites – pancakes or French toast.
For lunch or dinner, they offer hamburgers on fresh rolls, hamburger steak with gravy, Calabash chicken, fried flounder or shrimp, and more.
The diner is open 6 days a week:
- Monday through Wednesday – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Thursday through Saturday – 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Closed on Sunday.
