What is ButterBeer?

This term was coined by the Author of the Harry Potter novel series, J.K. Rowling, based on the real “buttered beer,” which was made from beer, sugar, eggs, nutmeg, closeves and butter.

But in relation to Harry Potter, it is a an imaginary warming beverage.

While in the series the drink may have had some alcohol, the beer in Butterbeer doesn’t necessarily refer to alcohol. It is more so referring to the butterscotch and other ingredients.

The beverage does not have to be alcoholic. It can also be sold iced, or even frozen.

Today people have made their version generally concocted of butterscotch, brown sugar, heavy cream, soda water, caramel, etc.

It is also available at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando. Universal does not sell any alcoholic version of Butterbeer.

So if your imagination has ever tried to figure out what does Butterbeer taste like from the Harry Potter series, here is your chance!
