Georgia Has One of America’s Best Oktoberfest Celebrations
Oktoberfest originated in Munich, Germany, in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Ludwig I, Prince of Bavaria, to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. According to the History Channel, it began with horse races and later added an agricultural fair and food stalls. In the 20th century, beer halls became a part of the festival.
