Help Aiken Dog Make the “Walkin Pets” International Calendar
Tater Tot isn’t your average dog. The 6-year-old miniature dachshund from Aiken is one of 50 pets with special needs who are finalists in an international calendar competition.
The contest is sponsored by New Hampshire-based “Walkin’ Pets,” a company that sells wheelchairs and other products for animals that have special needs.
Tater Tot, who became part of Rick and Debbie Cook’s family in Aiken when he was just a puppy, was left partially paralyzed after having surgery for a back injury in 2020. Thanks to his wheelchair though, Tater Tot gets around just fine.
Tater Tot is the star of plenty of You Tube videos and even has his own Facebook page called “Tater Tot the Wonder Weeny.” His owners say there isn’t much he can’t do.
What you can do is help him be one of 12 winners that will be featured in the Walkin’ Pets’ 2024 calendar. Tater Tot needs your votes.
Vote for him here:
The deadline to vote is Monday.
A calendar cover winner will be chosen by Walkin’ Pets based on the number of votes received, the quality of the pets picture and his/her biography.
The company will also name the Rescue of the Year and 2024 Walkin’ Pets Hero award winners. They will be selected for the dedication, advocacy, and care they provide handicapable pets throughout the year.
“Walkin’ Pets believes every pet is a miracle and will try to include all pets who are entered in this year’s calendar and will be celebrating your pets all year!”
