360 Degree Immersive 3D Show Will Be Making Its Way To The CSRA
A fully immersive, 360-degree 3D show will be making its way to the CSRA in Aiken, South Carolina. Mesmerica 360, created by James Hood, is an art cinematic projection show that takes place in planetariums and giant screen theaters. The show features not only visuals but encompasses a surround sound experience.
The show will be held at the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center’s DuPont Planetarium on the University of South Carolina Aiken campus. It will run on various dates starting October 28 and into November.
The goal of the show is for the audience to fall into deep relaxation while listening to the musical background and looking at the 3D art that came about from artists all over the world.

James Hood is known for being a vital and versatile musical pioneer. He has an extensive musical background. He was a Drummer for a rock band known by the name of The Pretenders. Hood spent over two decades leading the creation of the visionary electronica act called Moodswings. He also worked on a plethora of production and soundtrack projects. Now most recently, he has become the creator behind the innovative multiplatform series of immersive musical experiences.
In 2014, James Hood released an album by the name of Ceremony. Throughout the songs, the music includes sounds from the PanArt Hang Instrument, giving the tunes a very calm effect. The ceremony was very successful. The album was followed by another chart-topping album, in 2015, known as Pure Ceremony.
How Did Mesmerica 360 Come About?
Mesmerica was the name of Hood’s third album which was released in 2017. Mesmerica then expanded and evolved into a 360-degree immersive experience for all to enjoy. To date, it is the fastest-selling full dome show in history and has sold over 500,00 tickets globally. The show has also broken box office records for over 40 American cities.
So far the show has been nominated for the Producers Guild of America’s first-ever Innovation Award in 2020. It also won the Future Vision Award from the Center of Conscious Creativity.
