New Golf Courses Coming To Aiken
There are new golf courses coming to Aiken in the not too distant future. These courses join two other courses that have popped up recently around the Aiken area. Aiken is positioning itself as a new hot spot for golf in the South. Which I think is awesome! If it brings more people to our area to enjoy golf, then I’m all for it.
What Are The Details?
I was reading an article from Golf Digest, and they were talking about the new courses that are set to open about 15 miles from Aiken. It’s called 21 Golf Club, and it will consist of two 18 hole courses. The first course that will be constructed will be called “The Hammer”. There will be a second course constructed later, but there isn’t a lot of info being released about that one just yet.
Golf Digest called Aiken the South’s hottest spot for new golf, and they are correct. In just the past year, two other courses have opened. There’s Old Barnwell located in Aiken, and The Tree Farm in Batesburg-Leesville. These courses join established courses in and around Aiken like Palmetto Golf Club, Aiken Golf Club and Sage Valley.
A timeline on when 21 Golf Club will open hasn’t been announced yet, however I’m hoping it will be soon. I haven’t had the chance to play any of the new courses in Aiken yet, but I look forward to hopefully playing them sometime in the near future.
