New Zaxby’s in Grovetown Will Open Next Week
If you thought Grovetown was done with its huge growth and bringing new establishments to the area – think again!
Next Monday, December 18, Grovetown will set to open its first Zaxby’s. It will be located at 5002 Steiner Way.
Most Zaxby’s were used seeing around town are done in the brown or red brick style – well this new location will feature Zaxby’s classic white farmhouse-style design with new digital menu boards. It will also have a double drive-thru layout.
Of course with a new business often means new jobs. These new Zaxby’s will make for 50 jobs in the Grovetown area.
This Zaxby’s is owned and operated by SSR Augusta’s Tom Scott, Jennifer Cobb, Steven Stembridge, Scott Roberts, and Ashlea Lane. This will be the franchisee’s eighth location in the Augusta area dating back to 2019.
Fun Facts You Might Not Know About Zaxby’s
The first Zaxby’s ever, opened just 45 minutes from the CSRA, in Statesboro, Ga in 1990. Now Zaxby’s has over 700 locations across 16 states. Most of them are based in the south. Alabama has 75 locations alone.
It was founded by Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley. They thought of the concept for the restaurant during a game of basketball.
Zach McLeroy is the CEO, which makes Zaxby’s one of the few companies that has had the same CEO for the entirety of its history.
Each Zaxby’s is decorated with unique décor that is from or based on the local community to make it feel one-of-a-kind to that specific area.
Zaxby’s was one of the first restaurants to install the Coca Cola freestyle drink machines back in 20210.
New Zaxby’s Menu Items
Lately Zaxby’s has been adding new items to there menus back to back!
They have the Fried Chicken Philly for a limited-time offer – you also have to option to get it grilled as well.
Funnel Cakes were another menu item.
Another item was the Chicken Parm Loaded Fries- Zaxby’s crispy, crinkle-cut fries, topped with its signature hand-breaded chicken and parmesan cheese. The dish is then drizzled with garlic aioli and marinara sauce to give it a rich and savory flavor. The snackable delicacy is still available at participating locations until Jan. 7, 2024.
Could The New McDonald's Spin Off CosMc’s Be Coming To Augusta?
If there is one thing we have here in the CSRA is a lot of great places to eat. It also seems that new ones are opening almost monthly. Could Augusta be on the map for a McDonald’s Spin-Off CosMc’s?
CosMc’s first location is opening this week in Bolingbrook, Illinois. McDonald’s does have plans to open at least 10 new CosMc’s. And 9 of those are in the great state of Texas.
Just What Is CosMc’s?
The name caught my eye first thing. And after looking at CNBC, it seems that CosMc is one of the many McDonald’s Mascots that have appeared in some of the company’s advertising and art they’ve used in the stores. CosMc, well, he is an alien from outer space and loves McDonald’s food.
It seems that they are going back to the original plan they had when they opened McDonald’s. Quality food and you get it fast. At the founding of McDonald’s, it was burgers, fries, soft drinks, and milkshakes.
What Can I Get At The New CosMc’s?
Just like the founding of McDonald’s, it’s going to be simple. The menu will include your favorite comfort foods like the Egg McMuffin and M&M McFlurries. Hash browns, pretzel bites, doughnuts, cookies, ice-creams, and new spicy queso and avocado tomatillo sandwiches will also be on the new menu.
It seems like they may be going after Starbucks with specialty lemonades, blended drinks, and teas, with flavors such as “popping pear slush” and “tropical spiced” that can be customized with tapioca pearls, flavored syrups, and energy or vitamin C shots.
When you finally get to visit CosMc’s, you’ll see a smaller building than the regular McDonald’s. It will have more drive-through lanes. You will also be able to pay for your order at the menu board where you order to speed things up.
So, could Augusta end up on the test list for the McDonald’s spin-off restaurant, CosMc’s? I guess only time will tell and till then we can get our fix and one of the more than 40,000 McDonald’s locations around the world.
