Can Jack Harlow act?
This wouldn’t be the rapper’s first time taking on an acting role. He started acting last year making his debut in the reboot of White Men Can’t Jump.
In February 2023, the trailer for the White Men Can’t Jump reboot got a mixed response, especially about Jack playing Billy Hoyle, the character Woody Harrelson made famous in the original. Some fans were excited about the new movie, but others were worried that Jack Harlow’s performance might mess up what made the 1992 classic so great.
One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “They are remaking White Man Can’t Jump with Jack Harlow? Instant trash.” On the other hand, some people were surprised by the rapper’s performance with one person saying, “Jack Harlow is surprisingly good as an actor actually.”
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the critics consensus on the movie is that the movie remake “struggles to come up with reasons for its own existence.” Overall, the review website gave it a score of 26 percent.
Someone took to the audience reviews and said, “As is the case with a lot of remakes but it’s clear as day here and ultimately just felt like a cheap excuse to get jack Harlow in a movie.”
We may be seeing more acting from the artist. About a year ago, Harlow shared with Entertainment Tonight that to tackle acting more. “It makes me hungry, I want more,” said Harlow, referring to his future in the business. “I want to keep going, you know? It’s just a taste, and it was great, but I’m excited to keep moving,” he added.
