She's an actor - Her first TV appearance was on 2016's 'Roadies.' In 2021, she landed a voice acting gig on 'Sing 2' as Porsha Crystal.
She is very candid about having bipolar disorder, endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). “Chronic illness is a complex mystery,” Halsey said. “If I am or have been MIA please don’t take it personally. I am doing the best I can under difficult circumstances.”
She is not only a singer, also a published poet - her book, "I Would Leave Me If I Could," is a New York Times Bestseller.
She is an excellent artist - She even once showed off her drawing skills by doing a free-hand sketch Baby Yoda of 'The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.'
Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, grew up in New Jersey, and is Italian, Hungarian, Irish, and African American.
Halsey's younger years were rough - they admit to living with friends or in homeless shelters throughout their late teens.
They're an activist - Halsey has been very vocal about human rights, supporting Planned Parenthood, the BLM movement and speaking out about the overturning of Roe V. Wade.
The musician announced that they would be using she/they pronouns, later explaining that while they are happy for people to use either, “the inclusion of ‘they,’ in addition to ‘she,’ feels most authentic to me.”
Their talent shined at a young age, once revealing that their grandmother taught them how to play "Memory" on the piano at four years old. Halsey also learned how to play the viola, violin and cello before moving on to the acoustic guitar at 14.
They were accepted to the Rhode Island School of Design but never went because they couldn't afford it.
