Jared Leto plays the sickly Dr. Michael Morbius in Morbius, the latest movie set in the world of Spider-Man (it's complicated, but Spider-Man is owned by Sony Pictures, who lends the web-slinger to Marvel Studios for MCU films). The doctor is a gaunt science genius who has spent his life trying to come up with a cure for his mysterious ailment; along the way, he invented artificial blood. Traveling to Costa Rica, Morbius enters a cave to capture a gigantic flock of vampire bats, whose DNA he plans to extract to create a powerful new serum, which he’ll inject into his own veins.
