Hip-Hop Legends Take Over The Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show
Hip-Hop came through and owned the stage at the Super Bowl LVI Halftime show. The show featured hip-hop icons Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, with special guest 50 Cent; it was the first all-hip-hop Halftime show in NFL history.
The setlist included “California Love,” a song that Dr. Dre originally did with the late Tupac Shakur (another nod to Pac came when Dre played the riff to “I Ain’t Mad at Cha” on piano). Dre performed “California Love” with Snoop. Eminem performed his Grammy-winning hit “Lose Yourself,” and Mary won over the crowd with her performance of “Family Affair” and “No More Drama.” Kendrick performed “Alright,” from his 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly and special guest 50 Cent performed his birthday anthem “In Da Club.” Anderson .Paak who also began his career under Dre was seen performing on the drums during the duration of the performance.
