Foldable Bistro Set Sold at Local Stores Recalled Due to Fall Hazard
TJX Companies is recalling about 11,000 of its Foldable Bistro Set Chairs due to a possible falling hazard.
The U.S. Consumer and Product Safety Commission says the wooden frame in the product can break or collapse when someone is seated in the chair, posing a fall risk. There have been several reports of chairs breaking, including four reports of minor injuries.
The recall involves wooden folding chairs sold as part of a three-piece foldable bistro sets. The sets that are sold under the Panama Jack and House & Garden brands. The sets were sold at HomeGoods, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx and Homesense stores nationwide from March 2022 through June 2023. Prices ranged from $150 to $200.
The sets contain one small wooden table and two foldable chairs made with wood frames and black, anthracite, navy blue, beige, olive green or off-white roping on the seat and back. The chair dimensions are 16.53″ x 20.47 x 32.28″ and the folding table dimensions are 23.62 x 23.62 x 28.74.
If you have one of the recalled sets, stop using it immediately. You can contact TJX for instructions on how to receive a refund and dispose of the chairs. You can also return the recalled chairs to any HomeGoods, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx or Homesense stores for a full refund.
