Camila Cabello Announces Release Date For New Album
Camila Cabello announces the release date for her new album, C, XOXO. The singer’s fourth studio album is slated for release on June 28. You can pre-save the album here.
The former Fifth Harmony member dropped the first track of her upcoming album, “I Luv It,” featuring Playboi Carti, in late March. The single featured a sample from Gucci Mane’s 2009 “Lemonade.” She recently performed the song at Coachella with a surprise appearance during Lana Del Rey’s headlining set on the event’s second weekend.
She told Paper magazine of the song’s inspiration, “The very rare few times where I’ve had incredible chemistry with someone” which makes her feel like she’s “in outer space.” She adds, “Part of that cocktail is also the emotional drama between you and that person, and the chaos and butterflies and nerves and passion. It’s unsustainable and not peaceful and exhausting, but also, I LUV IT.”
Cabello, 27, previously released her third album, Familia, in 2022, featuring the singles “Don’t Go Yet” and “Bam Bam.” Her second album, Romance, was released in 2019, featuring “Señorita” with her ex-boyfriend, Shawn Mendes. Meanwhile, her eponymous debut solo album was released in 2018, with the hit track, “Havana.”
Reacting to her album release announcement, fans flocked to her Instagram comments section to share their excitement. One fan wrote, “THE ALBUM OF THE SUMMER ALREADY.” Another said, “FINALLY THE MOST ICONIC ERA IS HERE.” A third commented, “ahh why is this the most excited i’ve been for an album. i luv this new era queen!!” Another fan wrote, “WE FINALLY MADE IT I’M SCREAMING.”
Outside of music, Cabello appears in the biographical drama film Rob Peace, which premiered earlier this yeah at the Sundance Film Festival. In the movie, she plays Naya, the girlfriend of the titular character (actor Jay Will), who is forced to sell drugs to help pay for his incarcerated father’s legal issues.
The film is based on a true story based on the book The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace by Jeff Hobbs, who was Peace’s college roommate. She told Variety that this was a story she felt “Needed to be told.”
Cabello also recently made an appearance over the weekend in Miami to catch the Formula 1 Grand Prix race. There, she found and met Formula 1 racer Charles Leclerc, and posted a TikTok of the two hugging it out.
