2 Of The Best Red Wines That Are Under $10
While I admit I am not an enthusiast, I do know a bad wine when I sip one. Here, I’ll guide you through two red wines under $10 that I have enjoyed.
I’m speaking from the perspective of someone who enjoys wine casually and really seeks it for its companionship. In other words, my wine pours in a sitting usually don’t exceed two glasses. Smaller sips that nurse the glass over the course of an hour or two.
Wine in my busy lifestyle is typically consumed in one of these circumstances: while I’m cooking dinner for the family as I find it to be relaxing a nice wind-down to the day. At the dinner table works, too, however it’s usually a Sunday evening with pasta, or when having dinner with my father who loves his glass chianti. Lastly, on the rare occasion where I watch a TV show or movie alone, when the rest of the house is sleeping, I find a glass of red wine is incredibly relaxing.
It’s worth noting that I appreciate the news reports that a red wine has health benefits. In fact, Real Simple recently states that controlling blood pressure, improving gut and heart health, and limiting viruses are part of the benefits to glass of red wine for adults.
Here Are The Two Red Wines Under $10 That I Seek Out
Though these are in no particular order, I do prefer Pinot Noir. I won’t turn away from a merlot or the occasional house blend, but overall, Pinot Noir seems to agree with me the best.
Mark West
You can’t miss that yellow label. The cap is now cork-less. Many grocery stores that sell alcohol carry Mark West. The label brands themselves as “the best under $15,” but even my local liquor store will offer a bargain where you can grab bottles for $8.99. It’s consistently smooth in taste, and easy to find.
90+ Cellars
The Lot 179-Core, pinot noir can actually be grabbed for $8.49. I find it to be lighter and perhaps a little sharper in taste. “Known for finesse more than force and verve more than vigor, this Pinot Noir from California reflects the best of the Pacific Coast with its brilliant fruit, smooth texture and good vibes,” is how they accurately describe themselves. They also note how well the bottle pairs with warm and sunny nights. Now, I may have to try one more setting to enjoy a glass, and bring this bottle to the next beachside bonfire.
