The travel and lifestyle experts at USA Today love their pumpkin patches, and they’ve put together a tally of the best pumpkin patches in the U.S. The top 10 roster, which is part of USA Today’s 10 Best, was selected by an expert panel and voted on by their readers. “You’re sure to find the perfect pumpkin for carving or decorating your dining table, and some even offer pie pumpkins for baking,” they note. “Plus, there’s just something about visiting a pumpkin patch, many with hayrides and yummy treats, that puts you in the fall spirit.”
Before we get to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey pumpkin patches, let’s look at which spot got the coveted No. 1 position. It’s Treworgy Family Orchards in Levant, Maine. Everyone knows Maine is a beautiful area for fall colors, so it makes sense that area of the country would also have some great pumpkin patches. ” When visiting Treworgy Family Orchards, you may want to hop aboard the hayride or take a horse-drawn farm tour so you can get a good look at the expansive pumpkin patch,” USA Today notes, adding that it has a massive eight miles of rows. They also have areas where you can visit goats or eat ice cream.
Coming in at No. 7 on the tally is Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Dawsonville. “At Uncle’s Shuck’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, you’ll find pumpkins galore, all perfect for baking, carving, and decorating,” the experts at USA Today noted. “Stock up on all you need, and then make your way to the corn maze, take a wagon ride, or take a shot with the corn cannon.” Also, separate from the corn maze, they also have The Dark Rows, an outdoor haunted attraction open on Friday and Saturday nights in October. “This new and improved Haunted Trail is a nighttime adventure through the corn, lit only by the clear blue glow of the moon,” Uncle Shuck’s states.
