Wendy Williams Speaks Out On Diddy Case: ‘It Is About Time’
Many fans on social media have wondered what former gossip queen Wendy Williams might say about Diddy’s recent legal troubles. Now, those questions can be laid to rest, as Williams has spoken out.
The Daily Mail managed to contact her, and she shared some revealing thoughts about the man with whom she has a long history. “What is really weird is that I have been told by so many people, ‘Wendy, you called it,’” she told the British outlet. “Including some people from my family who have said the same.”
Williams, who also assured fans that she’s “doing good,” commented on the Cassie assault video, saying, “You know how I feel about that? It is about time. To see this video on TV of [Cassie] getting pummeled… it was just horrific.” She added, “But now you have to think, how many more times? How many people? How many more women? It’s just so horrible.”
The Wendy Williams Show ended its 13-year run in June 2022 without Williams appearing in the final episode. She had stepped away from the show in 2021 for what was initially a temporary leave due to health concerns.
Some fans now speculate that if Williams were still on air, she would have emphasized how she had warned about Diddy’s alleged behavior for years. Over the weekend, an awkward interview from Diddy’s 2017 appearance on The Wendy Williams Show resurfaced.
In the clip, the controversial rapper discussed Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., who was 16 at the time. “And let me tell you something, as the mother of a now 16-year-old,” Williams began before Diddy interrupted, saying, “Mhm, who I met backstage, he’s a great young man.”
Williams briefly thanked him for the compliment but appeared to hesitate and stumble over her words as Diddy watched her.
Viewers quickly revisited the clip and pointed out how uneasy Williams seemed when Diddy mentioned her son, now 24. “That was a threat, he’s saying play nice,” one commenter wrote. Another said, “The way that she hesitated, you know that she knew about him!”
Another added, “The way she wanted to say ‘you stay away from my son.’”
Diddy is currently facing lawsuits from 120 new abuse victims, even as he continues to seek bail. At a press conference on Tuesday (Oct. 1), Houston-based attorney Tony Buzbee stated that his law firm, along with California’s AVA Law Group, had been retained by at least 120 individuals “to pursue cases in civil court” against Combs, who was indicted last month on criminal charges.
