Demi Lovato Mourns the Loss of Her Niece
Demi Lovato recently shared heartbreaking news with her fans. Lovato announced the loss of her niece after her half-sister Madison De La Garza had an emergency C-section.
Demi Lovato and the Family’s Heartfelt Announcement
On her Instagram account, De La Garza, best known as Eva Longoria’s daughter in the hit series Desperate Housewives, posted a tribute to her daughter, “Thank you, Xiomara, for making us parents to the most perfect angel in heaven. Mommy and Daddy love you sweet girl.” Demi Lovato commented and re-shared her sister’s post, “RIP to my beautiful, perfect niece Xiomara, I’m so grateful I got to hold you.. I’ll forever be your auntie. I love you so much @maddelagarza.”
Before the heartbreaking news, it seemed Lovato and the rest of the family were excited to welcome De La Garza’s baby. In an interview with E!News, Lovato said, “I’m really excited to have new life come into our family. Family is very valued to me. I value family and friends over success any day.”
Lovato also reflected on how she did not prioritize meaningful connections in the past. Her project, the Hulu documentary Child Star and becoming an aunt helped with her epiphany and what she would like to impart to child actors today. “Value meaningful connections in your life over success because at times, I didn’t do that, and I regretted it. But now that I am reflecting a lot, I’m able to say that family means so much to me and I’m excited to be an aunt.”
Painful Goodbye
The family members all shared their painful goodbyes. Madison’s mother Dianna also shared a message in the comments published by Today, “They say when you meet your Grandchild for the first time, you feel a love that you can’t explain in words. I felt that love and I will feel it til the day I die. I love you, my sweet granddaughter Xiomara. Thank you for making me a REAL ‘Grandma D.’”
Jordan Lutes, Lovato’s fiancé also commented, “I love you so much rest easy baby angel Xiomara.”
Dallas Lovato, Demi and Madison’s oldest sister wrote a poem for her niece promising that she’ll take care of her mom and that they’ll see her someday. She also wrote how she would forever be in their hearts and wished they had more time before she needed to depart.
