This year’s theme is “Choose To Challenge.”
International Women’s Day has been celebrated since 1911, with the first actually being celebrated on March 19th in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. The official date of March 8th was established in 1913, but the United Nations didn’t officially celebrate the date until 1975!
It’s a day to celebrate the many achievements of women in all different aspects of life: economic, social, cultural, political, etc.
