It’s National Beer Day! What Beer is Georgia’s Favorite?
Thanks to one man from Richmond, Va, every April 7 is National Beer Day. According to this report, while Justin Smith and his friends were at Buffalo Wild Wings, his waiter said to them “happy national beer day,” and their brains got to turning. After doing some research they saw it was a holiday in Iceland but not in the United States.
After starting a Facebook page and getting the attention of the Brewers Association of America, it spread like wildfire.
This day is to celebrate the Cullen- Harrison Act being signed into law in 1933, reversing the prohibition on selling beer in the United States. Beer comes in hundreds of types, flavors, and proofs and is one of the most widely consumed alcoholic drinks. Beer has always been a huge thing on this earth, research has shown evidence of beer production that dates back to 7,000 BC.
In Georgia, we do our fair share of beer drinking and apparently a lot of beer googling, too. If you could guess Georgia’s most searched beer what would your answer be?
If your answer was Guinness, you are correct! According to BetGeorgia.com , Guinness pulled in the most numbers across Georgia with 276,600 Google searches in the last year.
Followed by them was Bud Light with 227,520. Below is the full chart of Georgia’s most searched beers on Google:
