Old-Fashioned Soda Shop in Augusta Suddenly Closes its Doors for Good

After almost two years of business, Sarge’s Soda Shop suddenly announced it has permanently closed its doors.

Sarge’s Soda Shop was a one-of-a-kind old-fashioned soda shop selling unique soda flavor options and different treats.

On July 5, previous management, Melissa Kerstetter, announced that her, her husband, and her children, would be stepping down and leaving the shop.

Kersetter had hoped that the shop would continue to grow. But on July 11 it was announced that Sarge’s Soda Shop would be closed until further notice.

There hadn’t been any word on when they would reopen. Now as of August 17, they have permanently closed its doors.

The closing is due to unforeseen circumstances with the economy and other mitigating factors. They ultimately couldn’t afford to stay open.
