Augusta Christmas Parade Is Headed In A New Direction, Literally
The holiday season means a lot of things are coming to town and one of those things is several parades throughout the town! A great way that Augusta brings the community together by showcasing holiday spirit, is with the annual Christmas parade.
Some big changes are happening with the Augusta Christmas Parade this year. As you may know, Downtown Augusta is going through a major revamp piece by piece, and with construction projects happening on Broad Street the parade will be taking a new route.
Announced by the Downtown Development Authority, the parade will move from Broad Street to Green and Telfair Street.
The parade route is U-shaped and will end where it began. It will start at 10th and Greene Street, take a right on 7th, then a right on Telfair before ending at Telfair and 10th. A good viewing spot appears to be on the 7th near the Woodrow Wilson House.
The parade will take place Saturday, December 9th at 1 pm.
