Slow-Cooked Bar-B-Q Restaurant Opens Soon In Augusta
We’ve known for a while that a Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q restaurant would be coming to Augusta. And now, we might know the actual grand opening date!
Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q is being built where the former Romano’s Macaroni Grill location was on Robert C. Daniel Junior Parkway. Plans for the restaurant were submitted early this year, according to The Augusta Press. And now as the year winds down, the restaurant is gearing up for their opening.
According to the Augusta Metro Chamber, the official ribbon cutting celebration is set to take place Wednesday, December 13th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This is an event that is open to the public.
About Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q
According to their website, “Jim ‘N Nick’s celebrates the artistry of slow cooked Bar-B-Q with recipes handed down for generations.” In addition to in-person dining, they offer online ordering for take-out and delivery, and also do catering for events.
The restaurant chain got its start in Birmingham, Alabama back in 1985. They set up shop in an old pizza restaurant and started simple. Their goal was to showcase and honor the long legacy of bar-b-q masters, while not cutting any corners. And ultimately, they wanted to serve the whole community like family.
They consider themselves an authentic bar-b-q restaurant that holds on to the past recipes while still embracing the future. And they specialize in 12-hour slow-smoked pork and beef, while not using freezers, microwaves, or shortcuts. Bar-b-q that’s fresh, authentic, and served fast.
Jim ‘N Nick’s may have started in Alabama, but they have grown the franchise to over 45 locations. They have 17 locations in Alabama, and now Georgia will have a total of 18 locations. Other locations include 3 restaurants in South Carolina, and locations in Tennessee, Florida, and North Carolina.
The Menu
The menu at Jim ‘N Nick’s has many of the items you’d expect from a bar-b-q restaurant. This includes pulled pork, beef brisket, bar-b-q chicken, ribs, and chicken tenders. Their appetizers include onion rings, smoked wings, brisket chili cheese wedges, and deviled eggs.
Also on the menu, you’ll see there’s a great selection of burgers, soups, and salads too. When it comes to sides, they of course have baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, mac & cheese, and bar-b-q corn on the cob.
