One of the most common New Year’s resolutions for many people is often times to read more.
If reading more books is one of your New Year’s resolutions for 2024, this might be just right for you.
Reed Creek Nature Park is starting up a new book club this month called the Wild Pages. In the Wild Pages book club, you will discuss books that will inspire you to take a hike and tackle your fears. The club will be focused on diving into books that focus on adventure and thought-provoking stories of nature.
When does the book club take place?
The book club will meet each month on Tuesday at 6:30 pm inside the Wetland Interpretive Center.
What are the upcoming books?
The upcoming book for January’s read is A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. The book is a memoir of his hiking adventure along the Appalachian trail. So it will allow the reader to follow the author as they navigate through the trails and learn about its challenges and beauty. The club will meet January 30 to discuss the book.
The Book for the February’s read is Wild by Cheryl Strayed. It will be discussed on February 27. The book focuses on the aftermath of Cheryl Strayed losing everything from her mothers death to her own marriage being destroyed. From that she decided to do something she never did before -hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State Alone. So the book will follow her though the journey.
It is free to be apart of the book club.
