Mila Kunis Told Her Daughter to Push Another Preschooler
Mila Kunis recently shared her “biggest parenting fail” with Ellen Degeneres’ web series “Mom Confessions,” and it just further proves the mom of two has an unconventional way of parenting.
“Well, here’s a story that’s about to get me in trouble,” the That ’70s Show star began, presumably referring to the backlash she received when she admitted she didn’t bathe her kids daily. Kunis began her story by explaining that her daughter, Wyatt, now 7, came home from preschool one day and informed Kunis that an “unkind” classmate had pushed her.
“And I instinctually said, ‘Did you push her back?’” Kunis emphasized that her daughter was taken back by this response by adding, “And my daughter’s like, ‘No!’”
But despite Wyatt’s shock, Kunis went on to encourage her daughter to stand her ground saying, “I was like ‘Push her back next time.’ You push her back and you say, ‘No thank you,’ and you walk away”
Kunis then noted that her husband, Ashton Kutcher, did not agree with his wife’s advice to their child. “I turned around and I saw Ashton’s face and he was like, ‘Nooooo!’” Kunis said.
“But I was like, ‘You stand up for yourself and you say no, thank you!’ Don’t push him off of a ladder, or off of a swing, or off of a slide. But on the ground, even-Steven, you push him back!” Kunis went on.
After she told the story, the Bad Moms actress reflected on her words and admitted, “I would say that was a parenting fail.”
Kunis later says in the “Mom Confessions” clip that Wyatt is a copy of herself, “And she is independent, and feisty and wonderfully smart. And it is an incredible trait to have as an adult and a really hard trait to wrangle as a kid. But she is me. She has a million answers for one question and she’s not wrong.”
When asked what warning she would give someone who is about to have kids she said, “Kids are like little terrorists. Don’t negotiate with them. It’ll go nowhere.”
