Labor Day weekend is here and for many of us, that means it is a long weekend! The last long weekend of summer that is – so why not put it to good use?
The reason behind observing Labor Day is to honor the labor rights that Americans have worked hard to achieve.
How to Celebrate Labor Day?
Well, unfortunately, there’s no handbook on things to do for Labor Day, but there is a list that we’ve created filled with events to occupy your weekend.
Labor Day Barbeque
A Labor Day barbeque is the perfect excuse to get out the grill and have some of your favorite recipes, while also enjoying friends and family.
There is no perfect menu for a Labor Day barbeque, but here are some things that you may want:
- Ribs
- Pasta salad
- Burgers
- Hot dogs
- Baked beans
and much much more. Don’t forget deserts!
Pool Party
Again this is the last long weekend of summer! What better way to cool off in the heat than a refreshing pool party?
Wear your favorite swimsuit, play fun pool games, and even throw in a mini barbeque.
Road Trip
It’s always great to leave the city for a little and get a glance at some new scenery. A road trip doesn’t have to be an 8-hour trip – it can even be 2 hours. Just getting out of your same area will be a great location spot for a long weekend road trip.
Rest
Maybe this is your chance to finally get some rest! While making the best of any weekend seems like doing all you can and having a blast – sometimes involves winding down from the busyness already going on around you.
Don’t forget, the CSRA has a lot to offer this Labor Day Weekend as well!
Labor Day in the CSRA doesn’t get much better than this.
