GOOD VIBES: Delivery Man In Tears After Surprise From Customer
This delivery man thought it was just another job, but he was in for a surprise that left him tears.
Making a stop at a customer’s house, the delivery man was met with a short front door trivia game. The customer had several sealed envelopes with questions written on them. He told the delivery man, “For every question that you get right, you get whatever’s inside the envelope.”
The questions ranged from trivia about the Statue of Liberty to *NSYNC, and inside the envelopes, the delivery man found cash. One envelope contained one dollar, another five dollars, ten dollars, etc. When the delivery man opened one envelope containing $20 dollars, he became emotional and stared in disbelief. He then answered another question correctly and opened the envelope containing $50 dollars.
Beginning to cry, he tells the stranger that the total – over $80 at this point – was the difference between being able to pay his rent for the month. “I wasn’t sure what I was going to do,” he says.
Moved by the delivery man’s story, the generous customer tells him to open the final envelope, even though he hadn’t correctly answered the corresponding question. The envelope contains one hundred dollars. “I want you to have that,” he says. At that point, the delivery man is so overcome with emotion that he can’t speak.
