Megan Thee Stallion, Dr. Fauci, And More On Time’s 100 Most Influential People Of 2020 List
Time has officially named its 100 Most Influential People of 2020 list. As we reported, Time announced the lucky 100 during a TIME100 TV Special.
The Time 100 list is broken up into five different categories – Pioneers, Artists, Leaders, Icons, and Titans. Celebrities included in the list are Megan The Stallion, The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, Jojo Siwa, Halsey, Michael B. Jordan, Jennifer Hudson, Gabrielle Union, Tyler Perry, Patrick Mahomes, and Billy Porter. Also included is Dr. Fauci, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Donald Trump.
Along with each person on the list is an introduction piece about them. They were written by notable names, including BTS, who introduced Halsey, Taraji P. Henson, who wrote about Megan Thee Stallion, and Kim Kardashian, who wrote about Jojo Siwa.
In her piece about Megan, Taraji wrote, “It’s invigorating to see her become a platinum-selling artist. But you would be a fool to think that’s all there is to her. She’s deep. She’s enrolled in college. She’s an entertainer. She’s a free spirit; I see that in her. The industry might try to pigeonhole her in this rap game, but she’s got a plan that’s much bigger. And we got her. I just want her to keep winning.”
In The Weeknd’s introduction piece, Elton John had nothing but nice things to say about the singer. He said, “He has so many different types of music tucked up his sleeve that he incorporates into his vision. He’s not interested in commerciality for commerciality’s sake, but he’s one of the biggest-streaming artists on Spotify. Like Prince, he marches to his own beat. That’s an exemplary way for an artist to be.”
